9 Struggles Every Student Faces

Varsity life is probably the most interesting period of your existence. Unlike your younger years or the heydays of your career, you’re exposed to much more than just what mom and dad or your 9-5 dictates. In other words, you’re free to study, party, love, have adventures and get home whenever you want, with the list of liberties stretching as far as your assignments.

Sometimes your experiences will remind you of sitcoms or dramatic soap operas, with scenes looking something like this:

1. You get a 50% mark on an assignment that you did adequate research on and handed in well before the due date, just because three sentences look like they were plagiarized.

2. When you have to kick out unwanted revellers who’ve decided to make your home the communal bedroom.

3. Trying to educate a friend in the principles of grammar and you-apostrophe-are frustrated at their inability to understand the difference between “you’re” and “your”.

4. You and friends after hours of non-stop partying at the usual student hangout spot.

5. You guys three hours later and still at the same bar.

6. Avoiding an annoying customer at your part time job after a hectic night of studying.

7. That moment you realise you aced an assignment you thought you failed.

8. When you’ve just been paid at your part time job or your parents send your monthly allowance.

9. A recurring nightmare that you have days before graduation.

As you can see, it’s never easy being a student and it can actually be quite embarrassing. However, when you look at it from a different perspective, it’s quite a hilarious adventure that you’ll remember for the rest of your life.
